Hooke's Great Grandchild

The geek in me is alive and well. Robert Hooke was a natural philosopher, inventor, and a contemporary of Isaac Newton, Christopher Wren, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, and many other great minds. He invented and refined parts for watches which allowed them to be smaller and keep more accurate time regardless of their orientation, making a carried watch truly practical.

Every time you call the smallest unit in a living system a cell, you're using his word. Every time you look at a watch, you're being affected by his genius. 300 years later.
